Prophecy Comes True: What Raila's Sister Ruth Predicted About ODM 3 Months Ago That Has Come To Pass

Ruth Odinga is emerging as a key voice within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after earlier warnings she issued about internal divisions appear to be playing out.

Three months ago, the Kisumu Woman Representative reportedly urged party leaders not to push out Edwin Sifuna, arguing that he represented a critical segment of the party’s support base.

Her concerns were largely dismissed at the time, and in February 2026, moves to sideline Sifuna were implemented.

However, rather than weakening his influence, the decision triggered the rise of the Linda Mwananchi faction, which has since gained significant traction across several regions.

The faction, associated with Sifuna and supported by figures such as Babu Owino, James Orengo, and Caleb Amisi, has drawn large crowds at rallies in Busia, Kitengela, Kakamega, Vihiga, and Kisumu.

Observers note that the group has managed to mobilize grassroots support that the party’s mainstream leadership has struggled to match despite greater resources.

The ongoing ODM retreat in Mombasa has brought renewed focus to the party’s internal dynamics, with some leaders appearing to reconsider earlier positions.

Gladys Wanga, who had previously been associated with efforts to sideline Sifuna’s camp, has recently emphasized collective responsibility, suggesting a shift in tone within the party.

At the same time, Simba Arati has reportedly reached out to the Sifuna faction, signaling attempts to mend divisions that have threatened party unity.

The developments underscore growing pressure within ODM to reconcile its internal factions as it prepares for future elections, with Ruth Odinga’s earlier caution now seen by some as a missed opportunity to avoid the current rift.
