Ugandans Left Wondering As Museveni Abruptly Names New Acting Education Minister To Replace His Wife

A surprising twist has unfolded in Uganda on the 25th of June after President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed an acting minister of sports and education following unclear circumstances surrounding the current holder of the position.

The current minister of education and sports is President Museveni's wife and first lady, Janet Museveni, who was reappointed back into the role for the 3rd time now.

However due to unclear Circumstances regarding her health in the recent months, Museveni has been forced to appoint Hon. John Chrysostom Muyingo as the Acting Minister of Education and Sports.

The information was made official via the government of Uganda's social media platforms, but no reason was provided for the decision made. Many speculate the reason behind it to be Janet's unstable health in the past, but no one can clearly verify it unless Museveni himself makes it clear.

In the meantime, Muyingo will be in charge of developing national education policies, managing primary, secondary, technical, and higher education, and supervising public schools and educational institutions. The question many still ask is whether Janet will be able to return to the position given her current health status.

Many predict that Muyingo will permanently assume the role with time and be the overall person in charge.

Janet Museveni just celebrated her 78th birthday yesterday, the 24th of June, though many never heard from her.

It was her husband President Museveni and her only son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who made the information public by posting on their social media platforms.

The question that still remains looming is whether Janet Museveni will be able to return to her role as the minister for education and sports.
